Ever since I first bought the twins their first set of play dough, and I am continuously purchasing a new set almost every month, if not before that. The problem with play dough it never lasts enough , it usually hardens quickly and then disposed. But my major problem with be, that my little one “Moody” whose only a year and a half loves to try it. So I went ahead and decided to try different home made play dough recipes until I found the perfect one and made little adjustments for improvement.
It is super easy to prepare and even better is that the ingredients can be found in everyone’s kitchen pantry. The greatest part is that it will cost very little and new ones can be made with different colors every time!
. For this recipe you will need the following:
- 1 Cup of Plain Flour
- 1/4 Cup of Salt
- 3 teaspoons of lemon (you could also use vinegar, but I prefer lemon for the smell)
- 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
- 1/2 Cup of water
- food coloring
How to make it:
1:Place all the ingredients in a saucepan except for the food coloring (I tripled all the ingredients to make three different colors).
2: Mix all the ingredients over low heat until it forms a playdough consistency
3: Divide the dough and knead very very well with the food coloring.
